Zane Hyde, MD has joined OrthoAlabama Spine & Sports. Hyde, who is a fellowship-trained sports medicine surgeon, specializes in ankle, hip, knee, and shoulder arthroscopy as well as ACL reconstruction, partial and total knee replacement, shoulder replacement, and ultrasound-guided injections.
Hyde graduated summa cum laude from The University of Alabama before earning his Medical Degree at UAB where he also he finished his residency in orthopedic surgery. He went on to complete a fellowship in sports medicine through the University of Virginia. During his residency, Hyde was chosen as the administrative chief resident and received the Kurt M.W. Niemann Award for Outstanding Senior Resident. He was also inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
During his fellowship, Dr. Hyde worked as the team physician for the University of Virginia football, basketball, baseball, women's lacrosse, and men's soccer teams. He also served as team physician for James Madison University's men's and women's basketball and softball teams.
