The Alabama Hospital Association recently recognized several Birmingham-area hospital leaders.
Anthony Patterson
Will Ferniany, PhD, CEO of UAB Health System, was thanked for his service as chairman of the Association's Board; Anthony Patterson, FACHE, senior vice president of inpatient services at UAB Hospital, was elected president of the Birmingham Regional Hospital Council; and the following were elected to the Association's board of trustees: Jason Alexander, FACHE, ministry market executive for St. Vincent's Health System and senior vice president of Ascension Healthcare, and Keith Parrott, FACHE, CEO of Brookwood Baptist Health, Birmingham Market CEO. In addition, Glenn Sisk, CEO of Coosa Valley Medical Center, was presented with the 2018 AlaHA Award for Distinguished Service.
Keith Parrott
Ferniany had previously served several terms as a board member, officer and had also held the position of president of the Birmingham Regional Council of hospitals. Prior to his tenure at UAB, he was CEO of University of Mississippi Health Care. He has served on numerous national boards including the Association of American Medical Centers, University Health Consortium, Council of Teaching Hospitals (past Chair) and Vizient AMC Network Board of Managers.
Patterson served as Chief Operating Officer of UAB Highlands Hospital until he was named Interim CEO at UAB Hospital. Following a reorganization, he was named to his current position. He is a two-time magna cum laude UAB graduate.
Jason Alexander
Before joining St. Vincent's, Alexander served as CEO of East Cooper Medical Center in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, and held leadership roles at Providence Health System in Mobile and Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham.
Glenn Sisk
Parrott began his career with Baptist Health System in 2008 as president of Princeton Baptist Medical Center. He later became executive vice president and then president and CEO of the four-hospital, Baptist Health System before assuming his current position. Prior to joining Baptist, Parrott spent 17 years with Memorial Hermann Healthcare System in Houston.
Sisk has served as CEO of Coosa Valley Medical Center since 2001 and before that was president of Marion Baptist Medical Center in Hamilton and vice president of Cullman Regional Medical Center. He began his career with the Baptist Health System and was recognized as the System's Excellence in Leadership Award recipient in 1998.
