Drs. Monica Hunter, James Towery, and Richard Vest of Birmingham Heart Clinic (BHC) are now providing cardiology services in connection with St. Vincent's Birmingham Cardiology Clinic.
Monica Hunter, MD is an interventional cardiologist with more than 13 years experience. Hunter received her degree from the University of Louisville College Of Medicine. She is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. She is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association and Women in Cardiology.
Richard Vest III, MD is an electrophysiologist who has been practicing since 2011. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and clinical cardiac electrophysiology. Vest earned his doctorate at the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He specializes in diagnostic electrophysiology, medical therapy for cardiac arrhythmias, cardiac device implantation, cardiac resynchronization therapy, implantable loop monitor, electrophysiology studies, and ablation procedures.
James Towery, MD is an interventional cardiologist with three years of experience in private practice. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. He completed his doctorate at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He is a Fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventional and the American College of Cardiology. He is also a member of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology.
With this new operation, BHC now services four locations with the other three being the main campus at St. Vincent's East in Trussville, at Northside Medical Associates campus in Pell City, and St. Vincent's Blount in Oneonta.
