Orthopaedic Specialists of Alabama has added two physicians, Chad E. Mathis, MD, and J. Stanford Faulkner, Jr., MD. Dr. Mathis was Fellowship trained in Shoulders and Sports Medicine and has experience treating high school, college, and professional teams, including the Tennessee Titans. His practice emphasizes shoulders, knees, total joint replacement, elbows, hand and wrist. Dr. Stanford Faulkner has practiced orthopaedic surgery in the Birmingham area since 1986. He completed his Orthopaedic Residency at the University of Alabama in Birmingham and was Fellowship trained in Spine Surgery. His practice emphasizes work-related injuries, sports medicine injuries, surgical treatment of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine, as well as surgical management of compression fractures through the use of kyphoplasty.
