GENERAL SUMMARY
Assist Pharmacist(s) with dispensing activities; assist with inventory control; maintain adequate drug supplies necessary to
support daily operations.
Maintain the daily operations within the department to include answering phones, assisting individuals at the pharmacy
window/counter, entering charges for medication, receiving and stocking drug orders, and maintaining cleanliness of
assigned area.
Repackage bulk medication into unit dose containers, ensuring the correct drug name, strength, lot number, expiration date,
and barcode are labeled; ensure the Pharmacist verifies the unit dose medication prior to placing in stock.
Ensure that medications delivered and distributed in a timely manner; observe established guidelines; ensure medications are
loaded properly in the Omnicell unit.
Resolve discrepancies as necessary.
Prepare sterile products as necessary following proper protocols.
Perform other duties as assigned by Pharmacy Supervisor or Pharmacy Manager.
Position Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS ETC.
Currently registered as a pharmacy technician by the Alabama Board of Pharmacy (ALBOP); active registration will be required prior to the date of hire.
Currently certified as a Certified
Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products; knowledge of supply and equipment
ordering and inventory control; written and verbal communication skills; acuity with numbers.
