UAB's Ferniany Listed Among Nation's Leading Nonprofit Health CEOs

Will Ferniany, PhD, the CEO of the UAB Health System, has been named to the 2017 list of Becker's Healthcare "183 nonprofit hospital and health system CEOs to know." The list reflects some of the largest nonprofit health care organizations in the country. The Becker's editorial team accepted nominations for this list and made selections based on editorial judgment.

The Becker's profile touts Ferniany as a senior health care leader since 1975 and in academic medicine since 1988. He became CEO of UAB Health System in 2008. He has held key executive positions at UAB, University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson and the University of Pennsylvania Health System in Philadelphia. Ferniany earned his bachelor's degree in manpower and industrial relations, his master's degree in hospital and health administration, and his doctorate in health services administration from the University of Alabama.
