Three Birmingham hospital leaders were recently recognized at the Alabama Hospital Association's Annual Meeting. Will Ferniany, PhD, CEO of UAB Health System, was named chairman of the board of trustees; Andy Davis, COO of St. Vincent's Health System was elected as a board member; and Keith Granger, CEO of Grandview Medical Center, was given the American Hospital Association Grassroots Advocacy Award.
Prior to joining UAB, Ferniany was associate vice chancellor and chief executive officer of University of Mississippi Health Care and spent 14 years at the University of Pennsylvania where he held several senior leadership positions. He holds a PhD in Administration-Health Services and a Master of Science in Health Service Administration from UAB.
Prior to being named COO of St. Vincent's Health System, Davis served as vice president of physician development and president/COO of St. Vincent's Birmingham Hospital and as assistant vice president of clinic network for Infirmary Health System in Mobile. A graduate of UAB, Davis has both a bachelor's and a master's degree in business administration and a master's degree in health care administration.
Granger has served in numerous leadership capacities with the association, including chairman of the board, and is current serving as a board member and as the delegate to the American Hospital Association's Regional Policy Board.
