Fettig Joins Birmingham Gatroenterology


 
David Fettig

David Fettig has joined Birmingham Gatroenterology.

Fettig graduated Summa Cum Laude from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science and received his MD from the University of South Florida College of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at UAB where he served as Chief Resident. He also complete his fellowship in Gastroenterology and his Liver Transplant Fellowship at UAB.

He was presented with the Arnold P. Gold Humanism in Medicine Award; Best Teaching Fellow Award; Best Teaching Faculty Award; Mayo Clinic Gastroenterology Board Review Scholarship Award; and the AASLD Transplant Fellow Grant Recipient. He has presented at national conferences, published in multiple journals, and is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Physicians, and the American Association of the Study of Liver Diseases.

He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. His practice focus is diagnosing and treating diseases of the liver including alcoholic liver disease, liver cancer, viral hepatitis B and C, fatty liver disease, and liver transplant workup.
