Sherry Cole, RN, MSN, has been named Chief Nursing Officer for Grandview Medical Center.
Cole began her clinical career at Carraway Methodist Medical Center following graduation from UAB. In 1987 she earned her Master's Degree in Nursing from UAB and moved to University of Alabama Hospital before joining Trinity Medical Center in 1994. During her career, she has served in a variety of clinical positions including staff nurse for OHICU and CVICU, cardiac transplant coordinator, clinical nurse specialist for CVICU and CV surgery, cardiovascular clinical excellence coordinator, chest pain center coordinator, director of CICU, clinical director of the CV service line and interim CNO.
In 2012 Cole was named an Alabama Hospital Hero by the Alabama Hospital Association. In 2014 she was recognized as the Outstanding Critical Care Manager by the Greater Birmingham Chapter of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and in 2015 was named Nursing Director of the Year for Trinity Medical Center.
